What is Skin Needling?

Microneedling is a collagen inducing treatment that uses fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin. This process stimulates the body's natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production for smoother, firmer and more even-tones skin.

What it achieves:

It helps to refine skin texture, reduce the appearance of pores, fine lines, acne scars, pigmentation and enhances overall skin radiance.

Downtime and aftercare:

Mild redness and sensitivity can occur for 24 - 48 hours, similar to a light sunburn. Any acute redness and irritation will usually subside within 3-4 hours. For the first 48 hours, avoid excessive sun exposure, hot showers, swimming, saunas and strenuous exercise. Avoid makeup and active skincare.

Use correct aftercare including gentle hydrating products such as the Skinstitut Gentle Cleanser, Normal Moisturiser, Rejuvenate 15 serum (contains copper peptides which can help accelerate wound healing).

P R E -T R E AT M E N T P R E PA R AT I O N S:

• Discontinue use of Retin A, Retinols, Vitamin A creams and other topical medications for 4 days before treatment.
• Daily Use of SPF 30+
• Tyrosinase inhibiters such as Skinstitut's Even Blend should be used for a minimum of 2 weeks prior to treatment for a Fitzpatrick 3 and higher.
• Avoid Laser, Cosmetic Injectables, Peels, Waxing, Depilatory Creams and IPL for 2 weeks prior.
• A series of 3 LED treatments is recommended to enhance results.

P O S T-T R E AT M E N T:

DO:
• Use recommended post treatment products for the following 4-7 days
• Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks
• Use SPF 30+ or higher daily after 12 hours
• 12-24 hours post-treatment mineral makeup can be applied
